Ripped off my $20 sample

They ripped me off. Completely. I have nothing and they have my money.

SCENT MATCHERS'S BAD BUSINESS
Scent Masters became my last resort after my favorite fragrance was discontinued. I placed my order and received their "match" three weeks later.
It was definitely NOT EVEN CLOSE to my scent. Since I could not get anyone on the phone, I sent several e-mails that came back undeliverable and am still in possession of this noxious swill. I let my desperation get the best of me and failed to notice the signs that something was amiss about this company starting with their web site which looks like it was designed by an eighth grader for extra credit. Please save yourselves a BIG headache and keep scrolling!!
It's a long, frustrating hassle, but I'm still pursuing my $60 refund. STATUS TO DATE: Unresolved

New West "Match" Not a Match AT ALL
I was SO excited to read that Scent Matchers had an exact duplicate scent of "New West." I have been wearing this discontinued scent from Aramis for nearly 15 years. Women who love New West know what I am talking about.
I ordered it straight away, but when I received it I was horrified. Whatever they sent me smelled NOTHING like me beloved New West. I mean...nothing.
It was so gross it gave me a headache. I wrote the company to find oout if they had accidentally sent me something different and I got no reply.
AVOID!!!!

Hi - I've just placed the order 408836**** online and then decided on the offchance to look at online reviews. I must state I am slightly concerned as there are many reviews stating your website is a scam?
Please can you let me know your intentions of this purchase, I am looking to replicate Armani city glam (for men) and would be extremely disappointed if I were to have false hope of obtaining this fragrance.
One very interesting review stated if you 'proceed' through your website without stating any discontinued fragrance your website does 'search' and then states it can guaratee to match it - which is worrying.
Obviously if you do not respond within a reasonable timeframe I will have to contact my credit card company and reverse the charge.
On the other hand I do realise there are always people who try to ruin companies good names, but I am rather concerned to see so many poor reviews.
I will await your reply.

We do have some negative reviews, but we've also processed literally thousands of orders in the last 3 years, so the vast majority of our customers are happy.
You went through the order process yourself, as you see it clearly says we can match fragrances 99% of the time, AND that rare or one of a kind fragrances would need a sample and if we can't obtain the sample from you we would void the charge within 12 hours. Therefore, if you type in some nonsense, and then order, we would e-mail to as for a sample and you would state you don't have one and we'd void the order. So no one is being scammed, we can match anything we have a sample for.

Following my emails below I have now received the fragrance I ordered through your website, however, my initial suspicions have been confirmed - the fragrance you have actually sent is some garbage with absolutely NO resemblance to the original fragrance 'city glam' and therefore I will be contacting my card issuer to reverse the payment as this is an absolute con.
I will give you 48 house from this email to reverse the charges yourself or I will open a dispute and yet again, it appears, discredit your company and it's intentions.

I stated quite clearly upon order that if this was not as described then I will action a refund dispute. I am not willing to return this bottle of rubbish - it smells like some cheap soap rather than the fragrance you are supposed to have 'made'.
I am fully entitled to claim the funds back and if you are stating you will not do this unless, at my own expense I send back a bottle of rubbish that is not even worth the postage then I will just have to proceed through Visa, hopefully if I go via VISA then they will blacklist your company following so many obvious disputes other customers have raised.
I despise companies who basically sell *** knowing they're selling *** and claiming its quality. Your company is fraudulent and I will be taking this as far as my card company will allow - and indeed will warn others on the forums where possible.
If on the other hand you want to save us all the hassle I will accept the full refund. you first email stated you have 99% of happy customers....if thats ACTUALLY the case? Which I seriously doubt, you must either have a lot of customers with no sense of smell, or this % will drop dramatically within the next few months.
The forums appear to be true and although you say 'I apologise' I did clearly state at the beginning that if you are just fraudsters offering a 'con' then you should refund me immediately - you instead send me this absolutely dreadful aftershave that is maybe useful as a toilet cleaner rather than a body 'scent'.
Again, if you want to refund me I will accept that and that will be the end of it, if not I will take this as far as I can.
